Fall Skin and Hair Tips for the Whole Family: A Gentle Transition Guide

Fall is my favorite season, and I will admit it is also the season my family's skin starts sending signals. The air turns crisp, the heat kicks on, and suddenly cheeks are pink from the wind, hands are dry from constant washing, and hair is begging for a little extra attention. If your family is feeling that shift too, here is how we ease into the colder months, one small change at a time.

1. Trade lightweight lotion for richer moisture

What felt like plenty in July will not feel like enough in October. When the weather cools, we switch to sealing in moisture right after the bath while skin is still damp. For us, that is where the All Over Balm earns its keep: a thin layer over damp skin locks in hydration from head to toe, and it is gentle enough for every age in the house.

2. Do not pack away the refresher spray

It is tempting to think hydration is a summer job, but indoor heat is one of the driest things our skin and hair face all year. A light mist of the Everyday Refresher Spray in the morning, or after a long day out in the wind, brings moisture back without adding heaviness. It is also an easy way to wake up curls between wash days.

3. Give hair a deep drink before deep winter

Colder months are hard on coils, kinks, and curls: dry air, wool hats, scarf friction, and static that never quits. Fall is the season to get ahead of it. Wash a little less often if you can, keep moisture going with a leave-in like the Reagan Sanai Moisturizing Leave-in Detangler, and seal with a few drops of the Glow Hydrating Oil on the ends. When hair is well moisturized going into winter, it handles hats and static with far less fuss.

4. Protect the skin everyone forgets

Lips, knuckles, and little noses take the brunt of the season. Keep the All Over Balm where the family gathers, the kitchen counter or by the door, and make it a habit: quick swipe before heading out. A balm that lives where you will actually use it is worth more than three bottles tucked in a drawer.

5. Make bath time warmer in every way

Hot water feels wonderful on a cold night, but it strips the skin's natural moisture, especially for kids with sensitive or eczema-prone skin. We keep baths a little shorter and a little less hot in the fall, then moisturize immediately after. That one-two step, gentle bath, prompt hydration, does more than any expensive product ever could.

6. Build the routine around your real life

The best routine is the one that actually happens. Five unhurried minutes after bath, a balm by the door, an oil on the nightstand. Fall is a lovely season to reset the rhythm before the holiday chaos arrives. Start small, keep it warm, and let the routine be one more way your family says: you are cared for, inside and out.
